Welcome to the NIEF Attribute Registry
The NIEF Attribute Registry is a collection of attribute definitions that are intended for use by organizations and communities that wish to implement Federated Identity and Privilege Management technologies within the context of the National Identity Exchange Federation (NIEF). Each attribute definition listed herein has been developed with the intent to enable organizations to exchange attribute data in a manner that permits machine parsability and understandability.
Note that this registry does not store any attribute values, and in particular, it does not store any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) about individuals. It is merely a set of attribute names and definitions (e.g., "Given Name") that can be used to enable the exchange of attribute values (e.g., "Charles") between organizations and their computer systems as appropriate for their business needs.
For more information or to ask questions about this registry, please contact help@gfipm.net. For information about how to submit new attribute definitions to the registry, please see this page.
